M Chapoutier Saint-Joseph Les Granits Rouge (BIO) 2017
Description
The 2017 Saint-Joseph Les Granits is packed with licorice and blueberries, yet it walls them off under notes of crushed stone and an impressive structure. It's full-bodied and intense, laden with potential, but I wouldn't touch a bottle for at least a couple of years.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 94 Points
Appearance: very deep garnet red.
Nose: black fruit jam, smoked and mineral overtones.
Palate: smoky and peppered aromas. Tight tannins with a long persistency in mouth.
According to the vintage, the wine can be kept from 30 to 60 years, indeed from 50 to 75 years.
Sommelier's advice: A very fine, elegant weave, the notes of blueberries and graphite play with the wine’s reduction with refined tannins.
Food pairing : Fish in tapenade sauce Small game, lamb Cooked pork meats Soft cheeses, goat's cheese
