Château Carbonnieux Red Pessac-Léognan 2007 - 75cl
Description
This wine is one of the oldest in the very old "terroir" of Graves.
It is located on a high point in the commune of Léognan, composed of gravel land with a slight slope to the northeast and perfectly drained.
The harvests are manual but vinified according to the most modern rules; the grapes undergo an automatically controlled fermentation at 30º in stainless steel vats for 21 days.
It is then aged for a third in new oak barrels for between 18 and 24 months, depending on the quality and evolution of this harvest.
This wine, full of sap, fleshy and with a beautiful bouquet, is light in its youth.
It gains potency as it ages.
Robert Parker 89/100 Points
A very strong effort for vintage, this 2007 dark ruby/purple reveals notes of sandalwood, spice box, blackcurrant, sweet cherries and truffles. Spicy, round and generous with a well-layered mouthfeel, velvety tannins and a surprisingly long, authoritative finish, it will give you plenty of pleasure .
