Quinta do Vale Meão 2016

Description

Considered the Best Red Wine in Portugal for the 2016 vintage by Wine Spectator, Quinta do Vale Meão is a true icon among Douro reds.

It is carved with grapes from the historic Quinta do Vale Meão, which Fernando Nicolau de Almeida, the most famous Portuguese oenologist of all time, pointed out, back in the 1950s, as the best terroir in Portugal for the production of red wines.

Since its first harvest in 1999, Quinta do Vale Meão has received impressive awards every year from the specialized press, including the "Best Wine of Portugal" in the 2000 harvest by Revista de Vinhos, fourth place in the ranking of the best wines of the Wine Spectator 2014 world, in addition to Robert Parker's 96 points for the 2016 vintage.

Rich, dark and incredibly complex, it is a red that can evolve for many years.
