Almaviva 2020

A particularly dry year, 2020 began with a cold, dry winter, resulting in late bud break, particularly during the first two weeks of October. Spring and summer were marked by high temperatures, but also by drought.
These conditions favored a rapid maturation of the vine and an early harvest, which ended three to four weeks earlier than in recent years. Despite this extreme climate and thanks to the rigor of the teams, the 2020 vintage reveals a fruity structure, a fresh expression and a rare tension.

TASTING NOTES

COLOR: This wine has an intense ruby color.

NOSE: The pure and expressive nose mixes fruity (blackberry, blackcurrant, wild strawberry) and floral (violet) aromas with hints of ink, vanilla and dark chocolate. When airy, a smooth minerality emerges.

MOUTH: The elegant and generous palate exudes a seductive balance, vivacity and structure. Full, fine tannins extend to a lingering, smooth finish.

The best of two cultures

Made from a mixture of three classic Bordeaux varieties – where Cabernet Sauvignon predominates – and a Chilean variety, Almaviva is the result of the fortunate encounter between two cultures.

Chile offers its land, its climate, and its vineyards, while France contributes with the technical knowledge of winemaking and its traditions.
